VisionOS 26 is all about what Apple calls “groundbreaking spatial experiences” (their words, not ours). The update adds customizable widgets—because apparently, users love widgets (again, their words, not ours).

These live persistently in your space and can be tweaked by color, width, and depth. Options include a clock, weather, music, and photos. Developers can now build widgets for their own visionOS apps, too.
Apple’s also introducing a “new AI algorithm” that adds depth to 2D photos and a new spatial gallery app with curated content. Some supported apps and articles — like home listings on Zillow — now get that same layered, spatial treatment.

Personas have been updated to look more realistic (and yes, still unsettling), but remain processed on-device. VisionOS 26 also makes it easier to watch movies or play games in a more immersive, headset-first environment.
